Overview
GenRx is a medication tracking app designed for Gen X adults who need to manage their medications without being treated like children. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
Data Collection
What we collect
- Medication names, dosages, and schedules (stored on your device only)
- Dose logs — when you took or skipped medications
- Injection site rotation data (if applicable)
- Notification preferences
What we don't collect
- We don't send your data to our servers (we don't have servers)
- We don't track your usage
- We don't sell your data to anyone
- We don't show you ads
- We don't share anything with third parties
Where Your Data Lives
On your device only. Period.
- All medication data is stored locally using SwiftData (Apple's database framework)
- If you use iCloud sync (future feature), your data syncs via Apple's encrypted iCloud — we never see it
- We never see your data. Ever.
Notifications
GenRx uses local notifications only:
- Notifications are generated entirely on your device
- They're scheduled by iOS, not by any server we run
- No push notification servers are involved
- No tracking of when you open notifications
- You can disable them anytime in iOS Settings
HealthKit (Future Feature)
When we add HealthKit integration:
- You'll be asked explicitly for permission before anything happens
- We'll only write dose logs to Apple Health if you want that
- Apple controls this data, not us
- You can revoke access anytime in iOS Settings → Health → Apps
Data Deletion
Want to delete everything?
- Delete the app from your device
- All your data is gone
- That's it
There's no account to delete because there's no account.
Third-Party Services
We use:
- Apple's notification system (local only)
- Apple's SwiftData for on-device storage
- Nothing else
Children's Privacy
GenRx is designed for adults managing adult medications. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you're under 13 and managing complex medication schedules, you have bigger problems than this app can solve.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and post the new version here. We won't email you because we don't have your email.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- See all your data — it's in the app, look around
- Delete your data — delete the app
- Export your data — CSV export is a planned feature
- Not have your data sold — we don't sell it
- Be treated like an adult — that's the whole point
